HIGH Horizons’ partner, CeSHHAR, in collaboration with the Zimbabwean Ministry of Environment, Climate and Wildlife and the Ministry of Health and Childcare, will host the first Climate and Health Africa Conference (CHAC).
The conference, held in Zimbabwe in October 2024, will address the urgent need to tackle the detrimental health impacts of climate change on health and wellbeing in Africa. Discussions will centre around integrating advanced research on climate-health mechanisms, adaptation and mitigation intervention strategies, and equitable climate policies.
CHAC will also host a meeting for The Climate and Health Africa Network for Collaboration and Engagement (CHANCE), which will bring together researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders involved in the intersection of climate change and health in Africa.
The conference is now open for registration and welcome abstract submissions. There are also approximately 60 scholarships for Early Career Researchers from Sub-Saharan Africa who meet the selection criteria.
Following this crucial conference, HIGH Horizons will host its third annual consortium meeting on 1 November. Consortium members will come together to update on project achievements and results, and with new insights and motivation gained from CHAC, will look ahead to actions for the forthcoming year.
